The North Orissa University (NOU) was established in the year 1998. At present, 77 colleges of Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar Districts are affiliated to this University. The Honble Governor of Orissa, His Excellency Sj. Murlidhar Chandrakant Bhandare, is the Chancellor and Prof. Shiba Prasad Rath is the Vice-Chancellor of the University. The University offers a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in many disciplines. Various professional courses have been introduced in distance education mode.
